The deep south of this country is mired in hellish quandary. The darkest day, like ever, in the history of journalism has been pronounced to have occurred in that god forsaken place. I am dumbfounded!
Never in my life will I ever set foot in that area of rebels and thugs. In the future, when all obligations have been met, I will freely travel to parts of the globe, yet ironically, will not be able to even set sight of certain areas in my own country.
The Filipino, Penaflorida has been named CNN- Hero Of The Year, exposing to the entire planet how we, ordinary Filipinos strive to be the best we can in spite of an imbecile system of governance. Along with the honor is the woeful sight of our poor marginalized sector, looming large and real and grim. It is honor, disgust, pity, anger and hope up on screen for the millions of us to see. What a sight!
I see no one, no one at all fit for the next presidency. None of them inspire my trust, nor my confidence. They sing the same tune, dance to the same beat, wear the same mask. I bet they even smell of the same stink. God, when will all hypocrisy end? As well as the fake lame mimicry of global warming, environmental agendas, banishment of corruption , yada yada yada!!
My.waistline has expanded. My hair is big and dry. My face is sagging and wrinkles now obviously line my eyes. My dog is darn loud and my boys can be a handful at times. Out the front lawn, the tree has bats and the ground invaded by ants. The year is closing, closing, closing. Uncertainty hounds. It feels so 2012 I want to laugh! I am laughing!
So what should I thank you for? What?
I can think of some but the best would be is that I live. I am alive. And I have people who I love me. And there is - hope. Always there is hope.
So the world I solemnly whisper, HOPE...HOPE..HOPE...
and a peaceful HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all!

i read about what happened. ironically through a canadian news source. it's horrible. afterwards i googled this southern large island. geographically what a beautiful place. seems to be rich in cultural treasures too. it's really, really a shame what people can do to each other.

It's crazy beyond belief. Worse, it paints the picture that the rest of the country is the same ragamuffin thug nriddled state, which is so far from reality. That place is so not like where I live.
