I don't know who she is or what her story is or if there is one to tell of love or sorrow or loss or of finding and hope.
She certainly isn't me or someone I know or saw or am familiar with.
She stares quite comely and there is that confidence in her eyes and a kindness too, like the women I see who have everything figured out, or so it seems.
But hers isn't tinged with arrogance, or peppered with pride, just a full trust at the moment and a welcoming to try...
There is no perfection in her, no deep distinct color that pulsates, no straight drawn nose nor equal shaded rims.
My hands gave her existence and now she is here.....
and all I ask is - why?
I think I'll call her...." Brigid "...

Whatever reason she came to be may be unknown for now, so lets welcome her to blogland where I'm sure she will be welcomed by us all.
ReplyDeleteShe looks like she just tossed her head back and looked straight at the screen and said, "Hey there, do I know you?"
Very nice Lady. Have a great weekend.
Hey there!
ReplyDeleteI thought I saw that smile of yopurs popping up and around places, and sure enough, I looked at the side bar of Time Flies Like an Arrow (fruit flies like a banana) and there you were!
Then again, like so many people, sometimes the blogging just gets set aside for a bit. I have been struggling with returning to painting...a bit of my creativity got pulled out from under me.
I had been doing a few commissions for a blogging buddy of mine (her dog...) and I kept hearing of her father's slow descent into the last sleep, and I tried to get a painting done of his favorite dog (also the same gal's ) and then he died.
Which broke my heart. and doubly so because i didn't get that painting to her fast enough for her to give him.
Dang.
I should kick myself for being so slow, sometimes.
Anyway, it caught me by my brain (doesn't that happen to most folk?) and as I mentioned, have been trying to get back into the process.
Long journey back from the dark recesses of our own minds, I fear.
she's lovely!
ReplyDeleteIs this where you have been posting? hummmm I had wondered! I think I had better update my sidebar!
Happy Monday! xo

Methinks Brigid looks a little like you. Funny. As a mother of two sons, you have perhaps given birth to a feminine ideal.
