Expectations

Sweet Felicity was there that day, I remember it all too well. To find beauty so unexpectedly...And so, of all the photos I possess, I heart this the most. The greens and the verdant lushness of it all are so uplifting...never fails to make me smile. I live in the city you see. A 20 minute walk from my home confronts me with all the unpleasant noises and callousness of frantic city streets. None of these rolling terrains and conifers....

So even at the risk of being redundant or self absorbed, I post this once again to be reminded of a simple fact of life..."that when one expects to find felicity...felicity has a way of presenting itself."
In truth, it has always been that way with me. Even moreso today, I shall have it no other way.

And to you, my dear friend. I am thinking of you. Life is hard enough and I know your burden is great. This is reality. But when you willingly draw dark sceanarios of a foreboding future for you, then I am afraid..I am afraid..you condemn yourself to a future of your own doing.

Your expectations..that reel of film to a conflicting future you speak of...will come to pass. It will happen. Your tears will flow, endlessly. So stop it. Take responsibility for happiness- make a change. We all live in a dream world of our own doing. The question is, "How far removed from reality have you gone?"

Come back from the past, swim back from the future.
The present is here...

The Blue Gate

Blue gates remind me of "Alice In Wonderland." Of course, it was a blue door she was faced with in the story. Nevertheless, it was of such significance to be affronted with the question of whether she would open it or not. What lies beyond doors is always of great interest, isn't it?

I pass this gate almost everyday. What lies beyond is a pretty wonder. One thing is for sure, whoever lives within these fresh breathing walls of ivy green have much loveliness in heart to share. You can actually tell if a homeowner is happy by the profusion of vines circling and swaying all around. And, wow, with a blue gate like this, it all the more says as I pass by, "Hello there neighbor, be happy!"

And so, hearing that, then such I become.

The Lady Prism

Simply somebody who enjoys the company of a few intimate souls. I love the sound of sunbeams and the soothing brush of the shore on a sandy pebbled beach.

I love the ripple of cascading rain and singing brooks. I love the fluttery dance of fireflies and funny crickets on a dewy night. I love the melody of sultry whispers in my ears.

I love the view of a blue moon rising and of the Orion's Belt and of a meteor shower. I love the taste and aroma of French Vanilla Coffee on a Sunday morning in bed. I love moist brownies, almonds and pecans.

But most of all I love the feel of love wrapped around my arms. Welcome to the prism in me!

Mindful

MINDFUL

Every day I see or hear somethingthat more or less kills mewith delight, that

look, to listen, to lose myself inside this soft world -to instruct myself over

Authenticity demands WHOLEHEARTED living - even when it's hard, even when we're wrestling with the shame and fear of not being good enough, and especially when the joy is so intense that we're afraid to let ourselves feel it.

Next Time

NEXT TIME

Next time what I'd do is look at the earth before saying anything. I'd stop
just before going into a houseand be an emperor for a minuteand listen better to
the wind or to the air being still.

When anyone talked to me, whether blame or praise or just passing time,I'd
watch the face, how the mouth has to work, and see any strain, any sign of what
lifted the voice.

And for all, I'd know more -- the earth bracing itself and soaring, the air
finding every leaf and feather over forest and water, and for every person the
body glowing inside the clothes like a light. ~ Mary Oliver
