Early this week I made a firm resolve to be nothing less than happy. And you know what? For most part of my days, I was. No matter what, I woke up and greeted the day with respect and ardor for the new beginning life was offering me.
For some time there had been nothing but doomsday news, tattle tale complaining and whining chatter from certain sectors in the airwaves and cyberspace. I simply refuse to be part of all the downhill talking. I am not above any distress and certainly not callous about pain, but really, some people's troubles are very simply their own doing! Nobody can help them except themselves.
Yes, there were moments when I felt dejected, sad, melancholy or irritated, but my logical self would admonish my emotions to get a grip and snap out of it. Sometimes your mind needs to slap your heart. I think it worked!
Tonight is another night and tomorrow a new day. A week of being calm and content and definitely thankful. I aim to be even more next week. What victory!

What a great idea to consciously resolve to be happy! Happiness is a choice. Instead of reacting to circumstances, we can *choose* our response, and responding with happiness and love is a good thing. I love, too, that you choose such wonderful writings, poems and such to bring joy to yourself and others.
ReplyDeleteGood for you. Being happy is a choice, especially when things are choppy looking at what makes you happy can help a lot.
