June 2008, I wrote a poem. It was a crude misguided misplaced clump of words. Usually when I write it's like that - words broil, simmer and curdle with a resulting ooze marinated by time.
This morning I revisited my platter of words and spiced it up a bit. Here is the result:
MY LADY SHADOW
by: Roselle Quin
sweet courageous, I beckon
come peer inside
and you shall see
down the corridor of my mind
hangs a portrait of a lady
who I believe to be me
- but is quite not
a likeness so real
so convincing
it leaves me wasted
when I grapple the disparity
between her and me
this lady - strong, sure, purposed
this lady - temptation of words
this lady - genteel, resilient
this lady, who is me but is quite not
tell me who is she?
for my breath come in stokes of pit fire
my words a killing sting
my stare is acrid acid
a me but not quite
then, who is she?
I is her or her is me
or me is her or she is me
or her is she or I is me
Wait,
let me smile
sweet courageous
- for you....
and you shall see
down the corridor of my mind
hangs a portrait of a lady
who I believe to be me
- but is quite not
a likeness so real
so convincing
it leaves me wasted
when I grapple the disparity
between her and me
this lady - strong, sure, purposed
this lady - temptation of words
this lady - genteel, resilient
this lady, who is me but is quite not
tell me who is she?
for my breath come in stokes of pit fire
my words a killing sting
my stare is acrid acid
a me but not quite
then, who is she?
I is her or her is me
or me is her or she is me
or her is she or I is me
Wait,
let me smile
sweet courageous
- for you....
That is a great poem. I especially like this:

Thank you for sharing, you can see that you get lost in your beautiful poetry. Take care.
Interesting poem...Sometimes I do wonder on who I am...bit philosophical, still true:)

Actually, this reads better to me as a short story. Very nice.
