The Curtains Be

" What was said to the rose to make it open
was said to me here
in my chest."~ Rumi

Whoosh! Down over me it came, this gingham pile of heavy curtains which I had, on my own, been trying to put up for an agonizing half hour already. All my efforts mirthlessly laid in painful vain when I realized the attachments that held the rods in place were all but damaged. Tsk! Annoyance! Annoyance!

I was so wanting to give tis window a different look for tonight. But now it would have to wait till tomorrow at least. To think that my patience had been tried in more ways than one this week, and now this, sigh!

A stop at the store to purchase new rims and rods and such is now inevitably in order. And perhaps while I'm at it, I'd be enticed to select five panels of fresh new curtains.

Something with a touch of lace, maybe - in the palest of cream or the lightest of yellow. Oh, and matching lace mantels and flowery soft pink mats and napkins as well. Plus a darling bunch of deep mauve petal roses nesting in an old terracotta pot. I will find it.

Ahoy, ahoy, now look...annoyance turned lovely!  Blessed be!

  2. Oh that is a nice dining area. Lots of windows means lots of light and the way the curtains are being held open just lends to the comforting and cozy look. Thanks for sharing. Take care and have a great weekend.
